Making mini arepas from pierogi!

We’ve realized over our time at Jaju Pierogi that all dumplings and stuffed foods are related. While eating arepas recently, we realized… wait, arepas are just big, open pierogi… or pierogi are just closed arepas? Either way, you get the idea. We decided to try out this theory at home.

Fry your pierogi normally. Then, gently slice them along the seam and peel the pierogi back to reveal the start of your arepa!

Fill the pierogi with anything else you’d like to complete your mini arepa. We fried up some kielbasa coins and added some sauerkraut and stuffed them inside. But you can get creative. Add sautéed onions, bacon, sour cream, aioli, kimchi… whatever you can find!

These make great handheld party appetizers.
